Summary: Plate with an illustration of the 'Death of Harold' from the Bayeux Tapestry. The centre of the plate is transfer printed with the figure of Harold with an arrow in his eye. Around the edge of this is written 'Bayeux Tapisserie de la Reine Mathilde' and underneath this 'Harold Meurt les armes a la maine'. Towards the rim of the plate are more scenes from the Bayeux Tapestry. On the back is the mark of Royal Doulton, England.
